Since completing the 2013 Treasure Valley Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) Assessment, our Network has been busy spreading the word about available resources and using the planning tools to inform projects and programs in our communities.

• Treasure Valley Shade Tree Project

  • Project highlights:

    • Uses the Treasure Valley UTC Assessment to evaluate the energy saving potential of shade trees and identify strategic planting locations

    • Encourages homeowners to plant shade trees on the west side of homes

    • Focuses on energy savings, proper planting and long-term tree care

  • More than 13,000 trees planted since 2013
