Putting Down Roots For Good

Planting a Legacy with ExtraMile Arena

Since 2022, TVCN has proudly partnered with ExtraMile Arena (ExMA) and Boise State University to build a lasting legacy of green spaces and tree cover across the Treasure Valley. As an Idaho-based 501(c)3, TVCN is dedicated to planning for, planting, and growing trees in the region and beyond. Together with ExMa, we’ve collaborated on Putting Down Roots for Good, a project that directly supports the Elaine Clegg City of Trees Challenge—a climate action initiative led by TVCN, the City of Boise, The Nature Conservancy in Idaho, and the USDA Forest Service - Boise National Forest.

The Extra Mile Commitment: $1,500 and 100+ Trees
Through our partnership, ExtraMile Arena donates $1,500 in the name of visiting artists to the Treasure Valley Canopy Network. Each generous donation helps plant and nurture over 100 trees in local parks and nearby forests. These trees are more than just greenery; they play a crucial role in reducing the carbon footprint of our events, enhancing air and water quality, and promoting a healthier environment for all.

Words From Our Team:
“By making contributions to TVCN on behalf of our visiting artists, we are supporting Boise State University’s Blueprint for Success by fostering thriving community, trailblazing programs and partnerships and advancing sustainability initiatives, benefitting all Idahoans for generations to come.”

Micki Thornton
Assistant General Manager, ExtraMile Arena

With the generous support of ExtraMile Arena, we’ve raised $45,000 to fund over 3,000 trees

across the Treasure Valley—each tree a lasting gift to a healthier, more vibrant community.

  Celebrating Our Impact

"In our second year of partnering with Boise State University and ExtraMile Arena, we helped plan for, plant, and grow over 1,000 urban trees and forest seedlings in partnership with ten artists who visited Boise throughout the course of the concert season. In April, our friend and partner, Michael Cullen with ExtraMile Arena was awarded the Boise State University President’s Community Service Award for forging an innovative partnership with TV Canopy Network to advance community climate action in support of the City of Boise and Boise State University."
